Notes: Here is a clearer view of the Aiguille du Chardonnet with the glacier d'Argentiere beneath. The glacier reaches speeds of 1.5m/day in some places! This sounds fast, but  apparently there are places on the Mer de Glace where the flow is 2.5m/day,  or nearly 1km per year.
